Kris Brandt Riske, M.A. (Arizona) is the executive director and a professional member of the American Federation of Astrologers (AFA), the oldest US astrological organization, founded in 1938. She is also a member of the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR). She has a master’s degree in journalism and a certificate of achievement in weather forecasting from Penn State. Kris has been a speaker at various astrological conferences and has written for several astrological publications. She currently writes the annual weather forecast for Llewellyn’s Moon Sign Book and is the author of Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Astrology and Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Predictive Astrology. In addition to astrometeorology, she specializes in predictive astrology. Kris is an avid NASCAR fan and enjoys gardening and reading.

I purchased this book after I took an Astrology course a couple weeks ago. It arrived in a timely (4-5 days) manner and the book was in good condition.I want to say that I am impressed with how this book covered the topic. It is easy to understand and follow through with, if you are a beginner - this book will help you better understand the complex language of astrology! It gives you the basics in the beginning and further goes into detail as the chapters progress. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to begin their journey into astrology!
I picked this book to use for my Beginner's class in Astrology. It contains a lot of detail, and was a little threatening to some students. However, I regard it as a very comprehensive beginners book. Some people prefer to go at a slower, less detailed pace, which is fine. You decide.
If you are interested in Astrology; want to get beyond reading the news paper every day, this is your first step. Ms. Riske has written a manual that will not only get you started, but one that you will refer to over and over again. If, like me, you get hooked on this amazing subject and need more, this book will be the foundation of your library. My copy is tabulated and "dog eared" from constant use.

This is such a cute book to read! It has some nice little illustrations through out and some diagrams to help the reader further understand astrology and the signs! If you're also a nerd for this kind of stuff, I say go for it :)

The writer seems to give good, clear information regarding the signs, aspects, houses, and placements as well as just gives a good over view of the techniques for interpretation used in Astrology .Good for a beginner ,,but also the Intermediate level Astrology student will find this a very useful book.
This is a great book for those who are just learning Astrology and it's clear, and easily understandable. I highly recommend it for those just starting out in Astrology!
