This booklet would make a good introduction to St. Raphael for anyone unfamiliar with him. Better would be to read the Biblical book ("Tobias" or "Tobit"). The author puts her own take on the angel and his mission, but other readers of the Biblical account might have other views--for instance, she twice calls Tobias's dog "little," although the Scriptural account makes no mention of its size, and I rather believe that a larger, more protective dog would have been a more likely companion for two young men making a journey on foot with no other defense from the robbers ever present in those days. The booklet includes useful prayers and reflections on the lessons contained in the Biblical account. Certainly a better read than much of the silliness written about angels nowadays.
Nice little booklet on St. Raphael. Inexpensive. The prayer section is only 8 pages and 7 prayers, so you might want to consider other sources if you want more devotions to St. Raphael. The first part of the book, 18 short chapters and 45 pages, is about the history of St. Raphael. There's quite a bit about the Book of Tobit. You might want to read this book in the Bible before, after, or while reading these sections. I like the "Angel of Happy Meetings" Prayer on pages 52 and 53. If you would like to be married, have a happy marriage, seek improved health, are about to travel, or wish to experience more joy in life, St. Raphael is a powerful intercessor.

We ordered this book because when needed major spiritual intercession for my husbands medical condition. This was a very interesting booklet- felt like we "met" St Raphael through the knowledge gained in this book. He has since helped us in many powerful ways.
Gives a brief overview on angels and then describes St Raphael and his role. Even gives a summary of his role in the Bible and goes on to explain the reasoning behind his patronage of travelers, doctors, nurses, and marriage. Includes numerous prayers that specifically call on St Raphael.
Wonderful book to get to know this Archangel. A true treasure! I did not know much about Raphael until my mom died and passed along his metal. I am glad I found this book and am grateful to have it.
Though short, this is definitely a great read especially for Catholics or any curious person who wants to know about St Raphael the archangel. The book goes through the story of Tobias and his encounter with the angel Raphael. It also provides practical wisdom on various topics from marriage, fortitude, faith and perseverance in prayer. The content of the book is also in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Great read!
